Hi, I just signed up but I typically come here for all my questions. Now the time has come for me to apply to schools and I need my questions answered directly for myself and what I have to bring to the table. Im currently a student at Orange Coast College here in OC. Ive attended another school (IVC) and I had a rough start there. For about the first year and a half I didnt take college seriously, as well as some unfortunate losses in my family led to a horrible start. However, I decided to get smart and hammered out some decent grades at OCC. Upon successful completion of 30 units with a C or better I got academic renewal. All i have left from IVC is an F Im making up now. So now that the background is covered ill discuss my current scenario. 45 units down, 21 more to go. I am a psychology major. my current GPA for UC units would be a 3.2. I know its not GREAT but Im hoping to hear what you guys have to say and could shed some light. Here is a list of the colleges I want to attend, UCI,UCR,UCSB,CSUF, and CSULB. I really want to get into a UC. SO what do you think?

Also i had a few more questions a little off topic.
When they review your application, do they take into account your GPA at the time of application or do they wait to see what you get after the semester?
Also, for a UC is it absolutely necessary for me to take a foreign language? I plan to take it but i feel there are some other courses I should be taking instead of a language. And Ill only be able to get one semester of spanish in before i graduate.
And im a bit scared since my major is impacted i would get denied, so are there other options to getting in? Like changing my major or something?

Thanks alot ive been stressing about this alot lately and hope i can get some valuable insight to where I might be headed. And if you think there are other schools i should take into consideration please feel free to let me know.
