Unsure What State to Put Down on College Application

@Houston1021 Unfortunately my school phased out naviance last year, but this thread has motivated me to set up a meeting with my school’s college advisor. I am sure she has that info.

@ucbalumnus I am still being smart about safeties. Although students from my school do have a 70%+ acceptance rate to UT Austin, I am still applying to other, less competitive, schools. However, the likelihood of getting into UT is pretty high. Like I said, because of government benefits, paying for tuition in or out of state public schools is free for my military family. All of the private schools that I am applying to meet 100% of need in scholarships and grants. I know, even then, it is not guaranteed that I will walk away without debt, but I am working out that info with my parents now, and will deal with the private school’s financial aid office if I get accepted.

If you were to say, get into Rice, you are saying the military will pay? How much is the cap? The schools will count that as covering need? And you have an NCP situation? How much gap can you all afford?
