Unsure with my decision for earth science...advise me

Hey there.
I recently got accepted into SLO for the Earth (and Soil) Science department.
I like environmental science, but recently i have been thinking that I would have preferred environmental engineering, which is the same department as civil engineering.
I applied to earth science department because I didn’t thinkg i would get into the civil engineering department, but now I wish I had applied for engineering.
How hard will it be to switch into engineering, which I know all types are impacted for the msot part.
Can i switch after I have been accepted and before I decide to attend?

I feel like i am whining. The truth is I enjoy earth science but engineering would give me a lot more uses and I could really orchestrate the changes I want to make with an engineering degree: I want to design solutions, not just advise and some sort of geologist.

It’s not easy to transfer into the Engineering school, but it can be done. Here is some info you might want to look at:

Hi zach, I got accepted to Cal Poly in Env. Engineering and I understand what you’re going through, I had the same problem in my freshman year in college.

Not to scare you, but I just want to remind you that the type of courses if you switch will be vastly different. Here are the links for the course load for each:

[ASSIST Report: CUESTA 10-11 CPSLO Articulation Agreement by Major](<a href=“Welcome to ASSIST”>Welcome to ASSIST) <– Environmental Engineering

Env. Engineering requires much more math , chemistry, and physics, while Earth science requires more geology classes.
