Unusual chance question: disability? (stuttering)

Wondering if anyone can help my daughter with this one: She stutters, has worked with fluency experts all her life, has an IEP etc. She's also been extremely active in the national stuttering community and in mentoring other kids who stutter. She doesn't let it stop her - she's on mock trial, gave a Jr. High graduation speech, etc.

Two questions:
1) She is wondering whether to check the disability box (if there is one; she's been told there is) and how this will affect her chances - for or against?

2) How to explain her advocacy/volunteer work in this area, as it doesn't fall neatly into "hours spent" and isn't just with one organization. (She's been featured in national TV programs - how to include this, etc)

Top choices are reach schools: Wesleyan, Amherst, Williams, Northwestern
high reach: Stanford
SAT 2250, GPA 3.9

Thanks so much!
