I'm so excited for Q&A!

I was expecting a 750+, and I ended up with a 700.

That is horrible. Just a 20 point increase, and it was the ONLY section I studied for. >.<

i was expecting a 700+, after getting a 680 in may. i ended up with a 550! ***?

Plus its not like the math section was hard at all...Besides the couple of tricky questions, the test was relatively easier.

I hope to heck they misscored it.

I mean, I didn't score lower than I expected, but it was only like 20 points more than the practice test I took a year ago .. so idk .. I'm hoping that I go from 500 --> 570. :D

sort of unrealistic? =/

I was shocked when I got my Math score, too. Though it was my 1st SAT attempt, I was expecting a full score in Math. I think the whole "UNUSUALLY low math scores" phenomenon is due to the fact that the Oct Math was much easier than the usual SAT Math questions. I had so much time left after each section. The irony is that ppl who are extremely confident with their Math (thus expecting high Math scores) would be more likely to make careless mistakes since they don't bother to check the answers.

I've learnt my lesson from the Oct SAT: You don't study for the SAT I, you PRACTICE it.

well the october math was supposedly easier in college board's eyes, so they made the curve harsher.

but anyway...my scores:
may - 670
october - 730

and that's with almost no studying. lol idk, i thought october math wasn't hard.

I scored lower than I wanted in March, when I originally took it, so I decided to take an SAT prep course. I'm NOT a good math student by any means, and on my diagnostic tests was making like 560-570. I was soo pumped for the SAT in october, but my scores were MUCH MUCH MUCH lower than I expected.

they were lower than the original score.

but it's only paper, it doesn't define me.

...me too...me too

expected a 700+ got 660

another comment, we are probably gonna get a surprise when we get our score report and see that we missed 4 and got in the 600s....that is bullcrap.
i understand that it;s easier but the curve shouldn;t be that harsh.

Everyone I talked to thought the math section was unusually easy this time around, so maybe that goes with the "brutal curve" possibility?

I got in the 600s in math the first two times and finally cracked 700 this time. I was very pleased.

My tutor said the kids that had the experimental math did much worse than the other forms of the test, overall point decline from previous scores, so those who had sizeable increases would be interesting to know which experimental you had Math/CR/Writting.

I had experimental CR. Was expecting 670+ on M but got a 630.

i know i missed 2 and got 750.

So is anyone actually going to investigate this maybe by ordering the QAS? I dont think just talking about it will do anything...

I already order QAS on the 25th. It takes about 5 weeks for me to receive it. I'm also waiting to get the score report on Tuesday before deciding if I want to order handscoring.

SAME HERE

I thought I only got 1 wrong

and ended up with 710

I thought I got like a 750 Math, ended up with a 680. Oh well, first time I got a 700 so I'm happy with that anyway, thank you superscoring.

BUT my CR did go from 700 to 790 so I was very pleased :)

i got 4 wrong and got a 670! and i was hoping for early 700's in maths,
but the real shock was the writing section - i was hoping for 750+ and got a 630 :(
i need a 700+ to apply to amherst
am retaking in december - don't know what to do

My math was just brutally crazy! I took all SAT Blue Book Math Tests and consistently scored over 750 and then take the October Test and get a 650. I dont get this.
