The UofM Club of Greater Detroit has one application to enter multiple scholarships (some merit-only and some merit and need-based)
It says:
Check box and submit up to 200 words, your necessity for economic need and what you personally are doing to help with the financial situation towards your college experience. Financial need is determined by your application for Federal Student Aid as received and confirmed by the Office of Financial Aid at the University of Michigan. By checking this box, you agree that you are planning on filing FAFSA forms. You will be considered for financial need-based scholarships only. (Lloyd & Laurie Carr Scholarship, Jerry & Anne Hanlon Scholarship, Frederick C. Matthaei Scholarship Gary & Ann Moeller Scholarship and the Elaine & Roger Zatkoff Scholarship)
Does that mean, if I check the box, I am not eligible to be awarded for the merit-only scholarships?
