<p>Is it necessary/beneficial to write update letters for your colleges? Letting them know any accomplishments? Or is it too late now?</p>

<p>When I applied, I sent in an update letter toward the end of January.</p>
<p>Go for it. I just heard back from an admissions officer that they would add my info to my file, and I sent my update yesterday. 
It can’t hurt.</p>
