Update- What are my chances of being accpeted into Andover and Exeter with a terrible SSAT score?

Hello,

What do you guys think my chances are of being accepted into Andvoer and Exeter are?
I am currently 14, white, male and applying for 9th grade without the need for financial aid.
My classes and grades are:
Geometery- A+
English - A
History- A
Spanish- B+
Biology- A+
Computer Science- A+
Theater- A+
P.E.- A+

I did terrible on the SSAT(70th percentile) but I submitted my 98th percentile PSAT to Andover and Exeter.

The interview for those two schools went great, it seemed the people really liked me because they spoke highly of my chances.

I have been a competitive tennis player for 6 years, I have mentioned this heavily in each of my applications, including videos.

I live in Reno, Nevada and attend a VERY small private school that was ranked 26th in the nation when I joined, it is now ranked 250.

At this school I am part of the Go Baby Go foundation, long story short we help kids with cerebral palsy become independent.

I have an extra recommendation for each of these schools, and I believe I have good recommendations.

I wrote great essays for each of these schools(or so I’ve been told). My teachers strongly approved these essays along with my parents.

Tell me if this is right or wrong but I believe the only thing that may give me a chance is being from Reno, Nevada, a place no one is from at these schools.

You can’t submit PSAT for 9th, only for 11th and 12th I think. You absolutely must submit SSAT scores; your application won’t be considered without them.

I submitted both, and they said they added the PSAT to my file as well. So I’m basically asking if the 98th percentile on the PSAT will slightly make up for the terrible SSAT.

You have a shot, but it is a shame you didn’t apply to more schools if you have your heart set on boarding school. There are LOTs of amazing schools out there beyond the two largest.

(And of course you can send them your PSAT score separately. No one here knows for sure whether they will look at it, but better to send it than not.)

Oh I applied to Hotchkiss with a application virtually identical to that of Exeter and Andover minus the interview(there was none available) so I contacted them and ended up sending them a video where I essentially interviewed myself. And Hotchkiss flat out accepted my PSAT over my SSAT, so they won’t see my terrible SSAT score, and their average student accepted is in the 85th percentile, and mine was quite a bit higher(98th). I don’t mean to sound arrogant in this response I’m just trying to make myself feel better after receiving my SSAT scores… Anyways do you think I have a much higher chance at Hotchkiss, or about the same because I didn’t have a live interview?

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my questions.

I also applied to Choate and Deerfield,

Choate is the exact same as Exeter and Andover, decent interview and application terrible SSAT, and like Exeter and Andover I sent them my PSAT and award from this year for demonstrating my school’s values above what is expected- hopefully that helps.

Deerfield- I had a terrible application, I say this because it was very late, but they also accepted my PSAT instead of SSAT and there schools average percentile is 83 I believe. But I had no interview for Deerfield so I probably have no chance their.

Anyways here are all of my applications.

Let me know if you think I have a significant shot at any of these other schools.

Thanks again.

Wait, you should send it if it’s good? Should I send mine?

Yes send it. Convert it to a PDF and email it to the admissions office. And I believe they will look at it as they want to see the whole student.
