College List
Major - Looking into Biology or Engineering, such as Biomedical Engineering, etc. Psychology is also an interest.

Brown University*
Dartmouth College*
Tufts University*
Univerisrt of California Los Angeles*
Syracuse University [Favorite]
Boston University
University of Massachusetts Amherst
Drexel University
University of Connecticut
University of New Hampshire

I'm looking into University of California - Irvine, Pennsylvania State University, University of Maryland Baltimore County

*I probably won't bother applying to these reach schools if my SATs don't jump, since it'd be a waste of money to apply.

Chances of my other schools? I'm also in need of more college suggestions to bulk up my list. I particularily need more comfort / target schools.

** Bump ing **.

With such extremely low SAT scores you have absolutely no chance at Brown, Dartmouth, TUfts, and UCLA as I see that you have realized. Great chance at Drexel though.

How about Syracuse, then? Hopefully my SAT scores will rise in Oct. to roughly 1900-2000, would that increase my chances?

Also, is coming from a weak high school make me look better or worse as an applicant?

Higher SAT scores will definitely improve your chances. I think you should be able to get into Syracuse. A weak high school can help your chances if you have shown that you do more than what your high school offers but if you allow those limits to restrict you to low standards, then it will hurt you.

Well I couldn’t take AP courses until I was a Junior, and even then I only had room for one of two AP courses, which I added an AP Enrichment course to help me out. Next year I’m taking four, and that’s a hefty amount compared to the one or two the rest of my class is taking. Most of the clubs are non-academic but we’re trying to get a Science Honors Society of sorts so I’ll be participating in that as well.

Thanks for the help. Are there possibly other colleges which would be a good match?

Penn State would be a high mtach for you and B.U. would either be a high match or low reach based on your SAT scores. I’m from Philly and Drexel is a pretty good school for engineering, but having taken classes there, the standard really isn’t all that high.

Thanks. Can I get other chances / evaluations / suggestions?

Bump.
