<p>my top schools i want to go to are UCSD, UCLA, UCB... UCSD being the highest..
my sat is 1820 (but im retaking in nov. this time actually STUDYING LIKE CRAP--my goal is 2050+</p>

<p>CA resident</p>

<p>Subject test: Spanish: 620
Math: 650
Biology 600</p>

<p>GPA (10-12) is 4.44
i think that makes my UC GPA about 4.2</p>

<p>I have gotten the letter to submit ELC application. I'm ELC</p>

<p>Extra curricular:
--Indian Club (just indian stuff. i am the royal chef- i make the food and bring it to the club.. we also hold sporting tournaments, and stuff like that)
--Social Justice-Senior Year: basically help out the animals, etc.
--SlumDogs: gather money for the poor people of India. Senior Year
--me and my friend are thinking about opening a fencing club (i cant fence, but im sorta good). and when we do.. we would have tournaments and gather money for charity, etc.)
--National Honor Society Senior Year
--President of SDA writer's Club POETRY BRANCH
--I have self-taught to speak, write, Sanskrit
--Self-taught Hindi
-- that being said i can speak English, Gujarati, Spanish, Hindi, and some sanskrit (i can pronounce the verses nicely, but the spelling is meh!)
--i write poems and stories for fun

<p>Congrats on receiving your ELC status. Go to the link below and click on “Custom Tables”. Answer a few questions and then plug in up to 3 stats such as GPA, SAT I score, intended major, etc. etc. This will give you your chances for ALL the UC’s including your favorite, UCSD. <p>You have a reasonable chance of getting accepted and I encourage you to apply. Is that what you needed to hear? I gave you the best link out there, for determining your UC chances. I sure wish you would take 3 to 5 minutes and input a few stats. You can also input “ELC” as one of 3 stats, each time you want to see chance results. Good luck.</p>

<p>PS astrina… yeah my last name is patel, but i come from the state of Gujarat, India… and there mainly Gujarati is spoken and thats the “state’s language”
i seriously had no idea how to speak hindi, cept a few words that are common,</p>

<p>I just ran it for you using your ELC, weighted and capped GPA of 4.2 and above, and your total SAT reasoning score. I came up with 83.7 percent chance of acceptance. You need to consider that this is for ALL majors so your chances may be a little worse than this; worst case scenario, maybe they are 65%-75%, since UCSD probably has a competitive applicant pool in your major. I didn’t plug in your intended major of pharmacology, because your other “characteristics” (ELC, GPA, SAT) were too important to omit one. Look, I’d say UCSD is a good match school for you-- at worst. </p>

<p>Naturally, if you can increase your SAT score by a hundred points, your chances go up even more. Good luck, worry-wort…</p>

<p>does pharmacology fall under Biological And Biomedical Sciences or Physical Sciences</p>

<p>but i plugged in ELC< major, and SAT, and i have a 90+% in each i think…so i think im pretty safe… (i hope) hahha

does SAT II’s affect admissions? cuz of my two scores bio/math 600,650… im worried that they would reject me… its just that SAT II thats freaking me out</p>

<p>So, I’ve been seeing your posts here very regularly. Your chances are what they are, and I’m pretty sure theres not much you can do (other than the SAT). Just turn in your app and wait it out. Good luck! and enjoy senior year :)</p>

<p>@OP, UCSD is my top choice too, and I’m stressing D: you’re ELC though, which gives you an extremely good chance of getting in. Good luck and I hope to see you there next year!</p>

<p>Don’t forget there is a DISCLAIMER on the UC Statfinder link stating it is not a completely accurate guarantee of your chances. I’m not sure what major you would enter for Pharmacology- run a couple of these related majors and see if there’s much difference in the results. I do not think it is “a sure thing” to expect that you have a 90 plus percent chance of acceptance- not with your current SAT score. Make sure you have a safety on your list as well, just in case.</p>

<p>I am a parent of a Boston College junior and a HS senior. I had ZERO input in their essays with regard to topic, content, grammar, punctuation, etc. etc. I wish to remain completely removed from looking at anyone else’s as well. Good luck.</p>

@spatel ik the feelings you are having btw out backgrounds are the same …im from the same country and all that only diff is im a junior and lemme guess ur dad owns the hotel?
I wish i went to your school it has many more opportunities then mines.
Anyways back on topic i think that ur chances are looking good. Help me out.any advice on raising my SAT score? got a 1640 on my first one its low but o well i didnt rlly study from my blue book. so any advice or tips/tricks.TY and calm your self spatel im pretty sure u will get in!</p>

look around the SAT prep section on College Confidential… there are alot of great helpers out there (like silverturtle) and be sure to check out Xiggi’s guide. you need to study a lot. and the best thing i suggest is you just start doing practice tests until the test

<p>yup 100% born and raised in gujrat i speak it and a little hindi but i cant write it. and Spanish im almosty fluent in. i moved here when i was 6 so i have no accent either just the brown skin and traditions :)</p>
