Updating Colleges on Recent Achievements - Too Late at this Point?

As the thread title says...:)

My school Science Olympiad team just very recently received notice that we qualified for the state competition! It's a big deal for us, considering the program is only four years old, and it's the first time we've managed to qualify. With less than a month left until decisions come out, though, is it too late for me to notify my colleges?

I was planning on bundling that along with the two medals I earned (also Science Olympiad, but regional-level) and telling them about a school-wide project my club is launching as well...For Stanford especially, though, I know that the optional update form was due March 1, but we didn't get the news until after the deadline...would it be bad if I still sent/faxed in my info with a sentence or two explaining why it's late?

I can’t guarantee they’ll consider it, but it’s still worth updating them just in case. Just explain that you just got the information.

It likely won’t have any effect, but it definitely won’t hurt you.

Like the other posters said, go for it. It certainly can’t hurt.
