I took the SAT and ACT my junior year and did alright on it, however I would like to take it again this year to try and do better. How do I apply to colleges right now for early admission if I want to try and get better scores? Is it possible to just use my old scores then update it if my new scores are better when they come in?
Most school’s early application isn’t due usually until the first on November. So you would have plenty of time to take your October SAT and see if you would like to send in the score.
Congratulations and wise choice with Duke; I’m a big basketball fan. If I wanted to apply right now, before the school year starts, is there any way to update the score or would I just have to use the old scores and hope I get in, then re-apply if I don’t?
Don’t apply right now. Wait till you get your October SAT result before applying. You can’t just “update” your score after submitting your app.
OP:
It’s really unwise to apply with so much time left for revisions and updates to your application. Remember, once you send it, you cannot edit anything.
So I could at least start it now and save it until I have my new scores, then all I would have to do is enter the scores when I get them?
Yes, it’s wise to start early but it’s unwise to submit too early.
