Hello! I am an international senior wanting to apply to top colleges. Unfortunately, i did not have time during my junior year to do the SATs or ACTs. If you apply early action (November Deadline), can you update colleges with SAT scores after November? This way I could take ACT September, Subject tests October…send them…and try my best in November to update colleges!

It is recommended that you send your test scores to colleges a couple weeks before you turn in your application. You cannot “update” colleges on your test scores after the application deadline.

I have to disagree here. You certainly can update colleges, but there’s a very real chance that they either (A) won’t care or (B) will have already made a decision on your app.

For early decision, it’s usually a test date the last week of October or the first week of November. Although schools have deadlines, in the first few weeks after that date, they aren’t reading applications. They’re sorting and creating files for that tidal wave of submissions. I take back my previous comment; it depends how soon after the deadline you send your scores in.
If you don’t do well on the October SAT and take the December one and send that score to colleges, like marvin100 said, colleges probably won’t care. But if you send it during that brief period of time after the deadline when colleges are sorting out the applications they receive, you’re good. Some schools may even take scores a month after the deadline. I’ll admit, I was surprised to learn this myself. Good luck!

I guess I’d just say not to count on a late score submission.
