Hi, I am retaking my Math Level 2 test (which is a 740), and I already submitted my UC app without indicating that I am retaking the test. Can I update the SAT portion of my application to indicate that I am retaking the test?
Also, will it hurt my application if it is reviewed later?
@Gumbymom similar question if you don’t mind: My freshman applicant son waited until Dec (yesterday) to take the SAT subject tests. He’s applying to schools of engineering. He did not indicate on his UC app that he was taking Dec tests - didn’t realize that was an option and just left it blank. So, should he go back in now to indicate tests taken yesterday and then forward grades by end of month? Or is it better to leave blank until actual test results are in? He’s an OOS applicant if that matters. Not sure how they process applications so he’s worried his will just get tossed without indicating any plans or current scores for SAT 2s. And is it necessary to alert UC Admissions or is updating application enough? Sorry for all of the questions and any insight is appreciated, TY!
@Snowtree98: He can go into the UC application update the following:
You may add more UCs to the application.
You may change contact information.
You may add AP and other exam scores.
SAT subject tests are recommended, not required by the UC’s. That said, to be a competitive applicant, SAT subject tests if recommended by the campus should be sent if they are in a competitive range (700+). He can go in and update that he did take the subject tests and admissions will wait until all documentation is received before reviewing. The only way an applicant will get an automatic rejection or the application not considered, is if they do not meet the minimum UC requirements (GPA and a-g courses).
