UPENN Chances?

Hi I am just looking for some feedback on my chances at UPENN(or any other possible schools), any opinions or suggestions would be appreciated.

SAT Score 1st time: 2170: Cr-720 M-720 W-730
Should I retake it? (I can do better in math)

Sat II’s - History-740 Math-750

XC’S: Varsity basketball and football
Karate 6yrs
National Honors Society
Member of 2 clubs
Secretary of my class
GPA - 4.15 5 APS senior year

Community Service: Extensive Hospital Work, Tutoring at Special Ed. school

What is your rank?? And also, how are your recommendations and your essay?

I also think your EC's look a little weak.

Your SAT isn't that bad, but if you think you can do better in math, then go ahead and take it again.

What school within penn are you applying to? If Wharton, I would say close to no chance. CAAS would be tough. Engineering is possible, but I really don't see anything thats stands out in your application. Your SATS are good, but many people have better ones. I would advise you to retake, especially if you can do better in the math section (colleges take your best section from all your sittings). Your GPA is good, but not great. You don't provide a rank, and I don't see much leadership. Basically, your chances are average or below.

I am only a junior so I have not started the whole recommendation and admission process. However my class rank is 17/230 at a pretty competitive high school. I was wondering if you had any suggestions on how to bolster my list of XC's as they do seem to be a little weak.

On the contrary, Engineering is difficult due to lack of apparent interest in the sciences.

17/230 isn't all that great. I guess it also depends if your class rank is weighted or not?

For EC's...you need something out of the ordinary. Something that will really catch their attention. It may only be one or two things that are out there, but that may be all it takes. The things you listed (NHS, b-bal, football, etc) are pretty common. Try to take a leadership position that will set you apart from the others. Also, volunteering helps.
