UPenn Economics vs Wharton Majors

First off: I will be applying next year for Fall 07.

3 questions:

1) What is the main difference between SAS Economics and Wharton majors?

ex: <a href="http://www.gs.com/careers/inside_goldman_sachs/our_people/articles/our_people_profile_articles_040126121613.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.gs.com/careers/inside_goldman_sachs/our_people/articles/our_people_profile_articles_040126121613.html</a>
He is econ major!

and of course Wharton IS the business school, so what is the diff?

2) If I were interested in international business, would economics be a good option for me to choose? Or should I try to apply to Wharton if this was my purpose of transfering?

3) Is the acceptance rate higher? If so, would the admission office see this as an attempt to "bypass" the crazy low acceptance rates of Wharton and get into UPenn?

bump bump bump

last a final bump!

Let's help him out!

It depends on your goals and your abilities. If you want to go into the work force immeadiately after undergrad and stay in it for a long time then i sugest wharton. However if you have a talent for mathematics and if you see yourself going to graduate school (M.B.A, Law, economics etc.) then I would definately go with economics with Finance and mathematics minors. Economics with a finance minor will leave essentialially the same job options open after graduation and to the best of my knowledge economics is preferred to business even in M.B.A admissions. However, If you cannot handle calculus please stick with wharton.
