Other: All throughout high school my mom has experienced on and off bouts of serious illness, during which times I had to do most of the work taking care of both of my siblings; my GC wrote about this in my rec letter. (Will it look like I don't prioritize well b/c of my EC involvement?...i tended to favor my passions over my GPA unfortunately.)

Please also chance for Claremont schools (Pomona, CMC, Pitzer). Thanks so much!

SInce its CAS, pretty good shot. Low reach. TOp 10% of your class makes it possible and solid SAT scores raise chances

i dunno enough about cmc/pitzer/pomona to chance for them

“AP Euro Best Student” … interesting.

Anyway, I think your class rank makes up for your gpa so don’t worry too much about that. I would also agree that it is a low reach, as again, your class rank is good regardless of what your GPA is

Your standardized test scores are really good. Your gpa isn’t bad! Your ecs are good as well! Just write good essays and have good teacher recs! Best of luck!

Chance me back?

Rank is solid, but I’m not sold on UPenn for you yet…I think you definitely have a shot because of your SAT score and your ECs, but your GPA isn’t all that great UNLESS you’re at a nationally ranked high school that’s competitive as hell, in which case your GPA is good. If you can tie your mom’s illness (I’m sorry to hear about that btw) into a passionate essay, I can see you getting in.

Good luck!

ECs are on the low side for Penn, but good scores

I think you could get in.

any other opinions?

Historical research since freshman year, self-published work

What exactly do you mean by this? any sort of “self published work” will look really good on a student’s college application. I suggest you create some sort of portfolio of all the works you have done.

I think your numbers are great, and I think your EC are pretty solid. Of course they could be better but I’m going to say you have a pretty good chance getting in if you have very good essays and some good recs.

bump pleasee

penn loves early decision (its about 34% acceptance) so that works in ur favor

ur ECs and SATs are great so uve got that goin for u . overall, id say u have a very good shot- but keep in mind that penn is soo hard to get into!
good luck

chance me!
