@BehindYou only if you intend to report those scores.
Guys I just submitted my ED application to the College of Arts and Sciences!!! Ahh I’m so nervous because all I can really do now is wait. Good luck to everyone here too!!!
@Aztreas Thanks!
good luck all who apply!
Where do I send my high school transcripts? What is the address?
I cannot seem to find this information anywhere on Penn’s website. Do I need to first submit my application to get this information?
@SheepLover You need to ask your school (counselor) to submit it. They have a way to send electronically.
What do you think is a good score on the redesigned SAT for ED to Penn and is there a cutoff score you must get? Is my 1500 on the new SAT a considerable score?
@galacticpepe I love your username! Anyway, that is a very good score , I would say if your GPA and EC’s are up to par you have a decent chance
@JulyMengqi Penn is need blind so they do not consider demonstrated need in the admissions process
If my mom received two degrees from Penn and additionally worked there, will that help in the admissions process?
@sajeunesse, Yes, that will give you a big help in ED.
@Canoon thank you
Someone, please help! So I submitted my application about two days ago and I just got my Penn Portal login information too. I logged in and all the required materials are said to have been received except there is nothing on there about the ED agreement and the counselor recommendation. Does this mean they havent received it yet, or have they just not processed it yet?
On my common app account it says the two were “downloaded” today.
Thank you!!!
@232332 there’s a little bit of lag time between Common App and Penn itself, you’ll probably see they’ve gotten it by tomorrow.
okay thank you so much!!
@NoahTapp according to the official concordance tables a 1460 on the New SAT is the equivalent of a 2090 on the Old SAT and a 32 on the ACT. So your ACT score is better and probably what they will use. The 34 is a good score though so I wouldn’t worry too much about scores. And they use score choice now so you don’t have to send the SAT. I would just send ACT.
Hey guys. So I’m applying early to Wharton and I’m not sure what to put as my last activity.
I’m stuck among these:
- 2nd place in a math competition for this engineering event at a state college. (grade 11)
- orchestra activity coordinator (grade 12) (around 4 hours a week)
- Food pantry volunteer (grade 11-12) (around 2 hours a week)
any input would be nice. Thanks!
I would think two or three…isn’t number one an award? Can you put that under awards?
My gut is telling me go with orchestra…I think the music thing might round out your application and not everyone has music, but everyone has community service. I can’t remember where I saw this, but I recently saw something that said top schools love to see kids involved in music.
@collegemomjam I already have band and piano so I’m already very much involved in music. Also I can’t fit in all awards because there can only be 5. Unless I replace student of the month for a club in place with 2nd place math competition?
Hmm…I think the math competition sounds more impressive because it is academic but you would know best, what awards were more significant than the others. Sounds like you have a very strong application if this stuff is at the bottom!!!
@collegemomjam Thank you for your input! I will think about it and ask my peers. Thanks again!
