Dean Funda once said at a QA session with parents that they hate to split twins.
Yes, colleges don’t like to accept one twin and not the other, particularly if they are academically similar.
Twins are anomalies, and schools like to brag they take twins and triplets. I think it will only help you both in the admissions game. Anything that helps you stand out, helps.
Does anyone who had their interview remember the questions? Were there any trick questions or anything unexpected? This is my first interview so I am kinda nervous. Any help is appreciated! Thanks
^^^ Don’t worry my dude. Treat it like a conversation with a friend. I haven’t had mine yet, but if you go back a few pages there were some questions on this thread. I’d suggest reading them through and saying them out loud to a friend/family member (as suggested by Penn Interview Tips) or even to yourself in the mirror. I think if you see it as a casual conversation rather than a college interview, you will do great. Remember, this is just to gauge your personality and affirm what they already know about you. Good luck, let us know how it goes!
Anybody that did the UPENN PEEP program? Hoping that helps our chances?
For questions related to interviews, look at this Brown post (applies to Penn too)

There aren’t any trick questions…
@Ceciliaagnes i did peep! And yes one year 20 peeps applied ED and 19 got in
Just got my email today for a virtual interview! How long do these interviews usually last? An hour?
@Aztreas 30 min to an hour not longer than that though
@Dartmouth_21, I’m applying RD though as I can’t commit without knowing financial aid. Do you think it will hurt my chances?
@Ceciliaagnes ED does let you break the binding agreement if you can demonstrate financial hardship. However your chances won’t be hurt by applying RD. ED simply gives you a better shot since the applicant pool is smaller and the acceptance rate for Penn is often higher.
I think RD is harder than ED, but not by as much as some people think. The ED rates are higher because they include legacies and athletes so that skews it a bit.
For the twin…I also heard that they don’t like to split twins and remember thinking the feeling I got was that it could help you…I don’t think it will hurt you. I’m sure there are times they cannot and do not take both. I can’t imagine they would not take one of you even if they wanted you because they couldn’t take you both. I think your app will mostly stand on its own merit and that you will have no disadvantage being a twin. Good luck!
@Ceciliaagnes no peep can only help your original chances of beig accepted, just make sure your why penn essay is really good and references what you learned during peep
When are we supposed to get emails for interviews?
5,999 ED applicants… not including Questbridge… yikes that’s a lot.
How do you know how many ED applicants? @srtb1999
It was on an article on the daily Pennsylvania
Does my interviewer see my application before the interview?
No. The interviewer does not see the application, ever.
