@Dlo_99 It doesn’t show up on the checklist. I would call the admissions office if you really wanted to see.
My interviewer rarely responds to my emails (once every couple days) and because of this, it has been very hard to schedule an interview time (Skype interview). We had scheduled one previously, but it got rescheduled last minute after he did not call me for some time after our scheduled time. Also, time difference may be a slight issue. What should I do?
If we haven’t gotten an interview request by now, is there just no chance at an interview? Also, I know Penn says that not getting an interview isn’t something that can adversely affect your application, but I’ve also heard that students who don’t get interviews have already been eliminated. I’m from a metro area, so there are definitely alum available. Can anyone shed light on this?
Interview reports HAD to go in by the 21st so now you can’t get an interview. However I’ve seen a number of CC’ers who got in without so relax
@Saranyaa I saw it said Mid October - Early December on website
I got offered a phone interview yesterday and it’s scheduled for tomorrow. I live in PA so I was really worried when I didn’t get one since I assumed lots of alumni are close by. Don’t despair just yet!
How should I dress for my Skype interview? Also anyone get any odd questions, or just the basic questions you can expect?
Also I got my email 10/21 for those wondering.
What do y’all think of my chances?

Member of LGBT affinity
Head of an affinity group for students with disabilities (also helped the school hire a learning specialist)
–This affinity group is more so a service than a traditional AG. We actually cooperate with teachers and students and the learning specialist to make sure that students are getting proper accommodations.
Volunteered to help autistic children (being autistic myself I was able to implement my own tips and tricks when I was helping the kids with social skills).
Hospital Volunteer (mail delivery, medication delivery, discharging patients (certified to push wheelchairs and gurneys), or whatever task is needed)
Member of Young Dems
Other info: I am in the autism spectrum. I also explained that the reason why some of my standardized test scores are on the lower side is that I have a slower processing speed due to the combo of ADHD and autism. I also noted that I do not use extra time on tests. However, I have overcome these barriers by opening up about my experiences and helping others going through similar situations. In my Common App essay, I wrote about my experiences of living with autism.
On my interviews I also mentioned my interest in visiting art museums and analyzing movies. For example, I described my favorite painting “Treachery of Images” and how my art history class is making me notice the really small details in “The Shining”.
also I forgot to add in a few things: I was in JV Volleyball in 9th grade and also played in club volleyball outside of school in 9th grade.
also one of the main reasons I actually play the violin is that it actually eye-hand coordination therapy for autism.
For XC, I got Most Coachable Player Award 2016 (my junior year).
In addition for the LGBTQIA+ AG, I was the only freshman to speak at the 2015 panel they held for 10th graders.
I also once attended an accelerated class at Southwestern Law School on duress.
My CC said that my Penn Supplement was pretty solid.
LOR’s are likely solid b/c I am very close to these teachers.
Interview also went great: me+interviewer struck a rapport, talked about the constitution/sexual assault allegations, and my love for art and movies. We ended up talking for roughly an hour and twenty minutes.
I just got an email for an interview today. She said that the reports are due on the 30th for her…
I know we’re not supposed to look them up ahead of time. So would it be ok to add my interviewer on social media after the interview?
@piisgood I would wait until the decisions come out. You don’t want to send the wrong message. You also have to respect the interviewer-applicant relationship regardless of how the interview went. Your interviewer is still an extension of the officer reviewing your application.
Oh that’s weird… my interviewer said it was 21st. might be an international student thing idk @goodusername
I’m international student as well. On Penn’s website, it says last week of November as well.
@saranyaa are you from India? My D is trying UPENN this year.
When do we find out the exact decision date?
@DrAlbus From what I can tell, they release their decision release date the first couple days of December. E.g. last year it was Dec. 2nd.
My application hasn’t gone ‘under review’ yet and i submitted it in mid-october. How do you know? does it show on the website?
Good luck everyone! I got in last year ed and am taking a gap year so I’ll be going in with everyone in this thread who gets in!
@saranyaa India. What about you?
