UPenn ED Class of 2022 Discussion

Same @vaselineeee !!! No legacy, not citizen and born and raised in China where the competition is as fierce if not more than South Korea. I read on the website that if they cannot offer aid to international applicants, they will reject it. I’m only thankful that only one person from my area is applying to Penn, hopefully that fills a geographical niche of some sort.

@goodusername rightt south korea and china have some insane student…still it is lucky that you are the only one that is applying… korea is so freakin small that within 2~3 international schools, 20+ people have applied to penn ed.fingers crossed, i am just wishing for the best!!

@vaselineeee @goodusername Same, but from India. 33 ACT. No Subject Tests. Not even an international school! Doesn’t get worse than this. Oh no it does! Applied for full aid.

thank you to everyone who has offered me support and help on here… I knew there was a reason I loved penn kids (and all kids who love penn, I guess?). getting ready to leave my house in a formal evacuation… would be super hyped, however, if penn decided that this situation warranted early notification of my decision

@DelilahRhodes always be safe!! you got this :slight_smile:

lol these stats make mine look like a total joke (see page 24). You probably have a much better chance of getting in than I could ever hope for.

@elizf2299 You have great stats and honestly nobody has any idea about the chances other than the admission officers. It is not how you are relative to some random people on the other side of the world, rather it is how you are relative to yourself. Not only did you overcome the challenges, you helped others which is extremely commendable. While it is true that stats matter, being accepted to prestigious schools like Penn is not only based on stats (or there would be like 50% Asian hahaha) but also based on who you are as a person. Grades do not define you, rather, the fact that you refused to give up shows them who you are. Don’t lose hope!

lol the admissions people probably saw my application and thought it was a prank

@DelilahRhodes had to evacuate this morning. Hope you and your family are safe.

If there are a few other kids applying to Penn ED from my high school (2 others applying to Wharton specifically) will that hurt my admissions chances or is it possible that penn takes multiple applicants from the same high school?

penn doesn’t require midyear or final reports so if accepted (trying to think positively lol), does that mean we can relax a bit in school? cause i mean, they won’t know our grades if they don’t request it…

@hopefulanon Final reports are required.

Let’s say u get accepted from a school’s waitlist but accepeted admission to another school on May 1st. Would u first decline the admission and then accept the waitlist or could u accept the waitlist first and then decline the admission to the one u said yes to on may 1st?

Anyone else here apply for the school or nursing?

@nillupa , if you get waitlisted somewhere, and you accept a spot on the waitlist, you will most likely have to put a deposit down on another school by May 1st. Say that is your second choice school. Then, if you happen to get off of the waitlist at your favorite school, you would lose any non-refundable deposit that you put down on the second choice school, but you would then be able to tell them that you aren’t going to attend there any more. Then go to your favorite school. Does that help?

@pizzaking253 I did!

@candy9283 do you know any other people applying? I wonder how great our chances are!

If two applicants from my school applied to Penn ED, how does that affect our chances? We applied to different schools though, I did Wharton and they did SEAS.

Anyone have an insight on why there are so many students accepted from Pennsylvania, NY and California? Is that just a function of how many applications they got from each of those states? Or is there a preference for the home state?

Any CAS communication or DMD people here?
(Not dental medical lol digital media… there was some confusion when I met this undergrad and he talked about DMD for hours but it wasn’t the one I was looking at
