Asian Females getting rejected/deferred at very high percentage.
friend got accepted, has issue with race, does anyone know if race question based on biological race or how one identifies with.

Accepted Huntsman—any Wharton or IR/Econ/Poli Sci people PM me! Would love to get in contact!

Anybody else accepted for Poli Sci?

@Angelababy30 Congrats on your acceptance! But eh, I’ll find another school. I got a few really great scholarships from other places so i’ll be okay no matter what.

Has anyone found the deferred rate? Seems quite high.

@OMGUPENN2022 mood

Has anyone found out the deferral rate? Seems like most of us are deferred.

i don’t think it’s necessarily harder to get into upenn because of race. I’m an asian girl with no legacy, live outside of Philadelphia with lower than average scores and I got in… I think it’s personality

@CULL192333 what were your stats like? (if you don’t mind me asking). but congratulations!!

@OMGUPENN2022 how were you able to apply to both Harvard SCEA and Penn ED ?! You are not allowed to do this. The other person is right. So either you are lying or your college counselor is really unethical. Honestly if you actually did that I hope you get discovered and your admission rescinded. It is not fair to everyone else who has followed the rules.

Rejected Huntsman, accepted College of Arts and Sciences! Kind of bummed about Huntsman but soooo happy and relieved

What is the difference between deferral from Wharton vs UPenn? Thanks.

Asking for a friend - where is the FA info located? Is it in the portal or does it arrive separately?

@booksforlife01 I had a 34 ACT, 4.5 GPA, 690 apush subject test, 770 math 2. I was really worried about my test scores, but I think what penn cares about is how you are compared to your class. So as long as your at the top of your class, you should be fine.

is there a deferred student’s thread? Can someone link it here?

@HoFoThBe They’re one and the same

@CULL192333
“I think what penn cares about is how you are compared to your class.”

Penn admissions is definitely holistic. A marginal subject test score isn’t a big deal if the rest of your app is solid. Conversely, a 36 ACT is a plus, but not nearly enough to get a student in.

For the applications that are on the borderline, they do tend to lean toward a strong gpa and high class rank over test scores.
