Does anyone know if I’m rejected, can i ask to be considered for a different major?
I was deferred from Wharton ED but I would to be considered for SEAS… I assume it’s probably too late now ?
Also, Wharton is the hardest school to get into correct? Like everything is very difficult but i think Wharton has like a 4% acceptance rate… not really feeling to great going into Wednesday, but I’m really just ready to find out.
I got into Mendoza a couple days ago so it’s good to have another great school. Good luck to everyone
Well not change my mind but just say that if rejected from Wharton, can they consider me for SEAS? I didn’t know how to do that initially as an ED applicant because I didn’t wanna do seas early but maybe rd… probably a mistake but oh well @aoeuidhtns
They have already made a decision on your application. If you want to be considered for SEAS, you would have to take a gap year and then reapply or attempt to transfer next year.
Early/Mid February was probably the latest that you could ask them about switching.
@collegecrazy2017
If you truly think that a SEAS path is better for you, taking a gap year or such could help you to explore your interests and strengthen yourself and your resume in that area of inquiry could be a good idea.
Does anyone have any tips/recommendations on how to calm yourself down until Wednesday? My week has been terrible, as I have not been able to sleep well and can’t seem to stop remembering the impending doomsday (aka Wednesday) keep popping in my head.
@kcrag I got into Mendoza at ND and a full ride to another good business school. As much as I love Penn and could totally see myself thriving there… I don’t think taking a gap year is a good move for me. Thanks much
Just think about how college doesn’t really matter. How going to Penn doesn’t define you. How your life has been happy so far without Penn and probably would be without it. Also think about how good things take time to happen
Does anyone know the chances of getting in if you were deferred?? Is it like uchicago where they reject almost everyone they defer or more like stanford where the deferred ppl have a higher chance??
why do i keep feeling that more students were deferred this year though? i’ve seen quite a few deferred results on both reddit and on the ED results thread. wouldn’t be surprised if the deferred acceptance rate drops to 10% or less
@dannydalt64 - Here’s how to calm yourself over the next few days. I suggest you get to the place where you deliberately decide to be content - whatever happens. Remind yourself that more than 9 out of 10 applicants are going to be rejected by Penn on the 28th. And tell yourself that getting in was always a stretch. Choose now to be proud of yourself for having the confidence to even try for Penn. Think about how courageous you’ve already proven yourself to be by putting your heart and soul into making your application the best it could be.
Deliberately go over the benefits and positive things about the other schools you’ve already been accepted to. Look on their websites. Make a list of pro’s about every other school you’re considering. Get yourself hyped up now about your other options. Then…worst case scenario, you’ll already be well-versed on everything great about your options. And best case scenario, if you’ll be one of the few, the proud, The Quakers, and you can rejoice and just relax.
