I think I’m debating between UPenn and another school right now! If I do decide on Penn it’s probabky CAS ED. What majors is everyone thinking of going into? I’m probably doing history or mathematical economics
@SenseiNervous hey !! I was also originally thinking of applying ED to UPenn (hence why I created this thread) but I also feel as though my GPA is not competitive. On a personal note, I have switched to applying to UPenn regular decision, and have decided to apply early to schools where my GPA and other stats are far more competitive as well as schools were I have a good chance of receiving a scholarship. However, that’s just my personal decision, and I think that you should totally apply ED to UPenn if you think that at that time your transcript will be ready (including extracurricular accomplishments) and if you are financially capable.
I am debating applying ED, but I would get killed with the $$$ and get little/to no financial aid.
Anyone have any tips on whether or not I should in regards to this?
Hi! I’m planning on applying to Wharton ED!
anyone applying nursing ed?
CAS ED!! Doubt I’m getting in though lol. I live 15 minutes away
Looking to ED 2023 UPenn M&T/Wharton. Wondering the good, bad and the ugly about ED.
Word of some serious advise, please do not waste your time here, you yet have 3 months to crank up your profile.Focus on your school and out of school projects, use these months productively. My son got in ED to Wharton 2022, starts in august this year. From our experience, this is the most critical time, make best use of it…
to give you an idea of what it took him to get in
very high grades thru high school…was constantly in the 44 IB range
34 ACT, 800 sat2 math, 780 Sat2 physics
was class president, in school councils, became student president of an NGO, and did a project to bring solar power to an isolated community’s livelihood. project was completed before the ED went in.
was three season athlete, captained Track…was an athlete all 4 years of high school
Choose his teachers to write his rec letters very carefully, am sure he got amazing rec’s
Didn’t have a great interview…but got in
all in all 4 years of a lot of sacrifice and hard work…this is what i believe most of the Wharton international student profile will be.
Hope this helps you guys …cheers and best of luck!!
Probably apply ED to M&T
Surprised this thread isn’t more active. Anyways, wishing you all the best of luck as you begin the application process for Penn and all the other top schools you all will probably apply to. With acceptance rates decreasing more every year and application pools increasing, make sure you’re doing everything in your power to stand out while still being true to yourself. Don’t feed them admissions what you think they want to hear because its a surefire way for disappointment. If anyone here needs feedback on their supplements or anything, feel free to PM me (don’t expect to be on here much but we’ll see).
UPenn specific essay topic for this year has been officially released:
How will you explore your intellectual and academic interests at the University of Pennsylvania? Please answer this question given the specific undergraduate school to which you are applying (College of Arts and Sciences, School of Nursing, The Wharton School, or Penn Engineering).
Oh hey, the title of this thread describes me! In regards to post #24, I’ll also be part of the nursing squad! I’m excited to see who else might be interested too.
Honestly, the thing that kills me most is not knowing. Penn receives so many strong applicants that even the most celebrated student is left guessing. We have around 4 full months to know the verdict. Best of luck to everyone! Either you’re meant for it or your not. Regardless, the guessing game is totally debilitating and torturous. “Is it enough?” will be answered in mid-December of 2018.
Wharton ‘23!!! But idk if ill get in?? i have a GREAT essay (been told by countless ap lang and lit teachers at my school and family friends). 33 C on ACT but a 34 Superscore. taking subject tests in aug (math 2). 3.95 UW GPA but heres the thing…i go to a terrible public school thats titled as a “B school” (like a letter grade) is this going to hurt me ???. my EVs are through the roof and ive held 2 jobs (1 a summer internship at a local credit union - paid.) i have leadership (debate prez) and state/national awards (deca nats qualifier every year and national finalist - top 20 in the world - this past year). only thing i dont have going for me is no athletics but my volunteerism shows im into sports (coached a rec league of 7th graders to basketball championship, volunteer at local nonprofit that teaches disabeled/special needs kids to play sports, head sports specialist at camp jenny - sends inner city atlanta kids to sleepaway camp for memorial day weekend). anyway…can someone with knowledge on school ranking help me out about my school being terrible!? thanks so much! cant wait!!
if you look at my post above that’s how i feel about the whole issue. you really can’t determine for sure.
same here^ but I improved all my stats my only weakness is a 30 act. Aiming for that 33 in sept.
I’m considering ED-ing for Penn. However, I am still pretty undecided in my major so I am not sure this is a good thing. I also know a lot of really accomplished people who are aiming for Penn, and I know I shouldn’t let this discourage me but it is pretty discouraging. Is everyone here 100% sure? How so?
I honestly stay awake at nights praying to get into Wharton. Wharton has been dream ever since my dad taught me about finance. If it doesn’t work out hopefully either UF or FIU does
Hi guys, I’m class of 2024, but I’m super hyped to ED to Penn’s dual degree program in life sciences and management (LSM). Are any of you EDing to it?
Anyone EDing to M&T?
