UPenn ED Countdown

how do you access last years posts?? is there an archive ive been missing or something?

at the bottom of every page it says college discussion archive.

whoa ho! right you are. now i can read scary posts of smart people rejected, and weep. thanksss.

But last year's post wasn't scary though. It was exactly what I expected Penn to accept. You have the 1400+, the 1500+, making Penn a really well-rounded school. I mean, imagine a school filled with 1600s...does it NOT make you cringe?

catch are you suggesting that penn accepts purposely accepts lower-scoring students to promote academic diversity?

if a school accepted only kids with the highest sat scores it would be the worst most boring most elitist school ever. i mean, just look at princeton....

lol, my hatred of princeton is in full bloom. itll be a shame for it to go to waste when i get rejected from penn.

I am always very annoyed by people trying to bracket kids into numbers. "Lower-scoring" kids? What possibly can you mean? IF you are saying Penn looks at more than the numbers, then, yes. I think any college that looks at the whole package will ALWAYS have a lot of 1400+, 1500+, and a handful of 1600s...Academic diversity? The difference between a 1600 and a 1400+ is around 10 problems...and the high scoring 1600s might just be good test takers (I know two of them. One's really smart, the other...err...not that bright). I am confident that if Penn is to be a well-rounded institution of higher learning (which, I am certain it is), then naturally, they don't have to purposely accept "lower-scoring kids," they NATURALLY do it. All I was suggesting was that...it was the pattern...the great colleges always have the 1400s, 1500s, and 1600s. I don't think they purposely do anything...

Chocoman...Princeton...hahahahhaha..everysingle Princeton kid I know, almost 6 of them, hates the place. One transferred to Dartmouth just this past year.

see what i mean what taking the "high scorers" does. i dont want to be around 3,999 pseudo intellectual rich kids that have only done things to get into that college i want real people with real interests.

AMEN.

darthmouth doesn't seem all that "fun" either. is there are particular reason for the switch? on another note, the princeton rep. (korean female) that came to my area was pretty cute

offtopic: hahah seems i've been quoting you a lot catch.

dartmouth is definitely fun. very fun. their school mascot is a beer keg for christ's sake!

Booboocat, I am honored that you are quoting me a lot...now...if only I can use that to enhance my application..."Most quotable kid you'll ever meet in your life?"...:)

and the days go by...

less than 4 weeks!!!

until I am rejected! :(

27 days!!!

27 days and 2 hours and 6 minutes....omg...im gonna pee my pants....

lol jk

gosh...the suspense is killing me. 27...tick tick tick...time is very cruel indeed.

why does it seem so far away?

Think about what you were doing 27 days ago...Oct 17. Does it seem like it was all that long ago?

For those of you in Philly, UPenn Philly Seniors Day was 28 days ago......hmmmm....it DOES seem like that was forever ago...but I can still remember Chocoman's ice-breaker question during the session...

whoa....
