UPenn for 22K or Swarthmore for 15K

I dont know what to do :(
Does anyone have any advise on what to choose or
what aspects to consider?

If the $22K is significantly harder to pay for your family (or if it’s the difference between you taking out Stafford loans, or whatever), then Swarthmore looks clear-cut.

If your family can manage to pay either price (guessing the difference would be significant, though, if you’re getting that much aid), then decide on whichever is a better fit. They’re very different schools socially and academically.

Can you tell us more about yourself? What activities do you do? What do you want to major in? What do you want to get out of college? What kind of person are you? What is your financial situation?

Penn and Swat are both wonderful schools, but are very different. If you can afford either, think carefully about what you want out of college and which environment would make you happier. If you have specific questions about the schools, folks here will be happy to answer them! But we can’t give you too much helpful info if we don’t know what’s important to you.

For the same money, Swarthmore is a much better undergrad school than UPenn. No way i would pay more for UPENN undergrad, unless I were firmly committed to some arcane niche field that Swarthmore doesn’t offer.

Check both schools for the major you are interested in. Swarthmore has a gorgeous campus in a suburban setting yet the train is conveniently close to access UPenn and Philly. Swarthmore’s student body is smaller and more intimate. As a Searthmore student you can classes at UPenn.

Good luck!

Swarthmore is the top of the top- cannot get a better undergraduate education anywhere. Penn is a huge university, so if you want to major in Urdu, it may have options that SLAC’s don’t.
