It’s definitely worth applying. I don’t see much wrong–be it numbers or EC-wise. Nice work! Just remember to take the SAT II.

Oh, sorry! I forgot to mention SATIIs.
Chem: 790

As I said before, nothing sticks out to me as wrong. Very unique. I see you being very happy.

My one question is why you suddenly switched to French sophomore year, but you’re not planning on taking it again?

Idk, I don’t enjoy French as much as I enjoy Spanish. I would like to continue courses in high school in which I won’t die of boredom :P

Bah, French is better than Spanish, imo. Sounds more beautiful, grammar’s less complicated, and more popular around the world.

I could argue Spanish for all those aspects  but seeing as your username has “francais” in it, I’ll just nod in agreement.

Hey, after looking over this thread and chancing, would anyone mind chancing me at http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1093143-chances-some-elite-institutions.html#post12054776</a> ? :-)

i see you getting in to all those schools mentioned, you are a gem. however nothing is for sure. chance me back

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1086809-what-chances-do-i-have-2.html</a></p>

We can agree to disagree, I suppose  I like Spanish at times; I think it’s just that it doesn’t surprise me due to my studies in French.

“Learned for 13 years, won around 30 competitions, performed around 15 full-length concerts in USA, UK, India, raised $12,000 in a benefit concert in NJ for women’s education in India, recognized by and performed with renowned artists, go to India every year to perform in music festival.”

Interesting!!!

Make sure to write good essays (SATRT EARLY!!!)

Scores look good!

Better chances at Penn and Columbia.

thank you for your honest opinions everyone  can anyone else give me some advice?

Ivies are always reaches… but not as much for you
UPenn, Columbia- low reach/high match
Harvard- reach
MIT- reach

definitely apply though. you have as good a chance as most people.
also, how did you jump directly into spanish 4 and directly from there into french 4? are these the entry level courses, or had you already had 3 years of spanish and 3 years of french before high school?

Thank you! I’d studied French while living abroad in London as a child, and it turned out to be useful after all. I studied Spanish in middle school and skipped a few levels. Languages are something I really enjoy :)

Those are some pretty solid stats… you definitely have a shot at all of those … probably the best chance at UPENN and MIT… Columbia also you got a good shot… and Harvard is a reach for everyone so …

chance back
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1079059-chance-me-ambitious-applicant.html</a></p>

Ah, now that’s something we can agree on. I’ve studied French since 7th grade, and I started Spanish in the August before my junior year (now taking AP Sp Lang). Not planning on continuing Spanish in college, but definitely majoring in French.

Commendable- although I would go on with Spanish if I were you! I’m thinking about medicine as a profession though, so I’ll have to continue with languages on the side.

You have only taken 1-1.5 years of spanish and yet you are already in ap spanish language? how?

The long story is that I did middle school Spanish on my own in the weeks before school, did freshman Spanish for a couple weeks before my teacher recommended I move on, finished the ear in sophomore Spanish, started junior Spanish level 1 (level below AP), but was recommended to move up to AP part way through the year.

TL;DR: French is a huge help.

@violinpiano: Was thinking of starting a new language that’d be really exotic to me. I was gonna go with Ancient Greek.
