thanks!
So how likely is “likely”?
@kgiesch “Likely” means that as long as you do not commit a felony, or your grades do not pull a Titanic, you are in
@kgiesch Likely is definitely unless you get expelled, arrested, or in some other type of huge trouble. Congratulations!
Can anyone explain to me about the wait list process? (I didn’t get wait listed or anything, just in case if I ever get one)
What I want to know is what do you do if you are wait listed from a school that you really want to go? (The chances are slim but still) I heard that generally you get a wait list reply (whether you get in or not) from the Universities around at the end of May or early June. But don’t you have to give the most of the other school your decisions by early May?
Is there such a decision for “I will go if I don’t get into my other wait listed school” XD
in that case, you should pay the deposit to your second choice school before the May deadline
just to add onto what i said above, just because you pay the deposit doesn’t mean you’re legally binded to go to that school. however, you won’t get a refund
For those of you that got the nursing likely, where on the portal did it say to check? Was it like a notification on the top or something?
@baller55 it was on the top right beneath the “Welcome, ______”
It was a message that said there was a status update made on March 1st with a link to the letter.
Has anyone gotten a likely from any college other than nursing?
yeah, sorry, I’m happy to share essays as well if anyone wants em!
I thought you said earlier that you did apply to nursing? @kgiesch
oops I meant to clarify - I am nursing - I was just saying that, like chubii, I am happy to share essays
@Nedcone the report to Penn is supposed to put the context of the interview so the Admissions Committee can Compare apples to oranges. So if you met in his office it would say the date, time and location you met, whether you were late, dressed appropriately etc. If it is a phone interview or other type of electronic interview it should say that.
@bobchillax For heaven’s sake, DO NOT contact Penn or try to call attention to the error. The chances are that by now, the majority of essays have been read. In a previous interview Dean Furda himself said they probably only rely on the essay in 1 of 7 cases. And the people who do read it have been reading dozens of these and the chances are it would slide by. Plus, there is no University of Philadelphia so they know you didn’t cut and paste from another essay. Now if the essay said “Princeton” then you would have a problem!
@Rosyln Yeah, I decided not to contact them (largely for the reasons you mentioned). Plus, my college counselor assured me that most readers will have already made up their mind about how they feel about an applicant by the time they reach the end of their essays (where my error was), so if they’ve decided to accept me, they won’t change their mind because of a typo like this. But thanks for the input!
no interview… sad… will this hurt me a lot. Thanks *sigh again
@businessg101 The lack of interview won’t hurt you. They are based solely on availability and random assignment. There is no pre-screening. To give you an example of why you shouldn’t give up, I got a likely from Columbia without an interview. Don’t give up hope!
Same here, @frenchtoastlover
