Got an offer from Imperial College London and got accepted into UPenn. I'm stuck between which to choose. I ideally would want to major in Physics (at Imperial i don't have a choice). Which university is more famous globally and internationally? I've visited both and like both equally as much. Which university do you recommend i go to?

If I was in your situation, I’d choose the ICL.

Everyone knows the Imperial College and they’re a natural-science-oriented university. Penn isn’t exceptional in science.

The ICL has tradition, reputation and quality in Physics. It’s a simple choice…

^The above poster has no idea what he’s talking about. Penn is very strong in nearly every academic discipline and will open more doors in the U.S. and internationally. I don’t think ICL is a peer to Penn.

The decision is more cultural than academic, I think. UK vs US. London vs Philadelphia.
I’d go to Imperial and never look back.

Goldenboy8784, you’re right about one thing. ICL is not a peer to Penn.

Following the Times Higher Education ranking, the Imperial is a top 10 university worldwide. In 2011 and 2012, Penn was in the lower portions of the top 20.

Penn’s international projection scored a 30-something result. The ICL scored 90something in international projection.

In regards to Physics, the THE ranking placed the ICL at 14. UPenn didn’t make it to the top 50, worldwide. In fact, UPenn isn’t even top 10 in US rankings.

I’m probably going to study in the US, but I’m the philosophy/business/politics field. I’ll tell you this, engineering jobs are more easy to find in Europe (learn German!!). The biggest companies are in Europe, unlike in business/finance, and European engineering schools aren’t worse than the US schools. Ultimately, I’d only decline the ICL for MIT or Caltech.

P.S.: In your other posts you already said that you had a bachelor in physics from the ICL and then you said that you were already studying there. Are you trolling?
