UPitt vs. UMD-CP

Putting money aside (nearly the same cost), which is better? I don't like Pittsburgh that much but at the same time, UMD would feel like the 13th grade (in-state).

I also got into UMich, but the cost of it is still not clear. I have other schools to hear from as well.

It does not sound like you are excited about the prospect of Pitt or Maryland. What other schools are you waiting to hear from? What are you planning to study and what type of experience are you looking for?

It would be hard to turn down Michigan or your home state's flagship university but the U. of Pittsburgh has a lot going for it, not the least of which is size. It has 3,419 students in the freshman class and 15,422 total undergraduates. Compare that to the U. of Maryland with 4,050 students in the fall freshman class (yes, they now admit students in the spring as well) and 25,857 total undergraduates and the U. of Michigan with 5,600 students in the freshman class and 25,555 total undergraduates. Pittsburgh will be the most diverse socio-economically as measured by Pell grant data but the least racially diverse as measured by under-represented minority data. Maryland will be the most racially diverse and second to Pittsburgh for socio-economic diversity. Michigan is the least diverse of the three socio-economically speaking and is ahead of Pittsburgh but behind Maryland for racial diversity.

I just wanted to give an update: I withdrew my app from Pitt.
