If I am planning on uploading teacher recommendations for the Common App Arts Supplement, is there anything I'm supposed to do in order to validate that the recommendations were really written by my teachers? Since everything is electronic I'm not really sure how I'd get them signed...

Hi,

I don’t think sending your teacher’s recommendation in digital form is the best idea, because usually students should not be able to read them.

But if you still want to do it, you may print your teacher’s recommendation on paper, ask your teacher to sign it, and then scan the recommendation into digital form again and attach it to your application.

Good luck!

Thanks for your answer! Yeah, I’m thinking about just sending the recommendations via mail. But some schools do request that I send the recommendations electronically, so I’ll take your advice about scanning :)

I just remembered another question I had - does anyone know if its ok to send in the arts supplement before sending in the actual application? If the college doesn’t have a file on you yet, does that mean they won’t accept the arts supplement? Or will they just hold onto it until they get all your other information?

They’ll keep it safe and add it to your packet of documents as soon as they receive the official application/or fee. I remeber I have sent some universities my TOEFL scores, and after 4 months the real application. My scores showed up on the ‘App tracking’ web page automatically.
