Does anyone know the how likely it is to get into CS170 if you are still an undeclared CS major? I am planning on taking CS170 for Spring 2012, but I don't think I could finish all my prerequisites by then. I was a cognitive science major but am switching to computer science (yeah, I have some catch up to do), so I can't afford to miss Spring 2012's CS170.

bumping thread.

Much appreciated if anyone can give me some insight. As a yet to declare CS major, should I just phase 1 CS170 (or any other cs upper div for that matter) and hope for the best? Is CS170 generally a tough class to get into (like how I hear upper div psych classes are impossible to get in as for non-majors?)

CS 170 does not seem to be full for spring 2011:

Definitely phase 1 it if you can, cause you’ll be automatically stuck on the waiting list as an undeclared, and it seems like a lot of people are trying to take 170 next semester.
