I googled upper division standing and I still can't find what qualifies you as having upper division standing. I want to take an upper div anthro class and the prereqs say upper division standing. I'm not sure what this means. Is it determined by units.

upper div is having the number of units equal to a junior or senior. sometimes you can add an upper div class as long as it isnt JR/SR specific, it will say on tritonlink if it is. Try emailing the professor if you cant simply add the course

90+ units, including what you've transferred in

yeah, usually it's 90+ units to qualify as a junior/senior (and therefore upper division).. Although I've heard that some UD classes let students in if they have completed a certain number of lower division classes in the same department

That only holds true if there are 'plenty' of seats open

You won't ever be given priority over upper classmen if it's full

im a freshman and i got into soc/b 119 which is an upper divison class, am i going to get kicked out at the start of the quarter?

class is full /w a waitlist now

not every upper-division class requires upper-division standing. in fact, few do.
