UPS Store = Fail

The UPS Store is absolutely terrible now. Between it being the first week of classes and all packages being delivered to the UPS Store, the line to receive packages is all the way to the end of the mail room! Unfortunately, it's not even a fast moving line.

Further, if you are receiving a package, don't expect the slip to be in your box for a good 2-3 days after it arrives. According to the UPS Store, they have been swamped with 1000's of packages, and if it's not medication, just be patient.

They need to change the package system back to the way it was. The UPS Store obviously can't handle all of the traffic they are now receiving.

Agreed 100%, they should have just kept the deliveries to the dorms. It was so easy to go down the stairs and get your package. Carrying Chegg boxes from the UPS store, sucks : (

Yep… I ordered something that was sent FROM Tallahassee on the 25th, and it’s been in “delivered” since last week, yet it’s still not in my box…

same problem here. books, parking permit and everything else sent is sitting in that place.

^^^My daughter said the same thing. I told her I got a delivery confirmation on Friday for the package we sent and yesterday the slip still wasn’t in her box and she said the line was out the door. Her books, the package I sent, are just sitting there. One book she had to have by today.

“and if it’s not medication, just be patient.”

I just found that funny for some reason… >_>

I agree, very poor change. They will see less of a problem with upperclassman sticking around in the dorms for next year if this continues. We need to start writing emails. It is absolutely ridiculous. If this is to change, they need to staff it accordingly. Not being able to get to books that are SITTING THERE, and not even having a slip in the box, just a bad idea all the way around.

I already sent an email:

To Whom It May Concern:

The functionality of the UPS Store this past week has been appalling at best. It is absolutely unacceptable that it took longer for a package notification slip to be placed in my U-Box than it took for the package to be delivered by USPS from Houston to Tallahassee. I’ve had two packages delivered to me this week; one of which I was unable to receive until three days after it was delivered; the other took two days from when it was delivered. I have another package which arrived today (a required textbook). I can only hope I am able to pick it up prior to my next class which is Wednesday.

Moreover, the line to receive packages has been extending all the way to the end of the mail-room. Why should I have to wait hours to get my mail? This was not a problem last year, which leads me to believe that the UPS Store is either very understaffed, or that this is the result of the UPS Store now taking ALL packages. Why do this when it’s obvious you cannot? Hour long waits and 2-3 day delays on packages are unacceptable.

There is a sign posted in the UPS Store asking “how are we doing?”

Just look at the line outside the door and the enormous queue of unmarked packages. That ought to answer your question.

Regards,
Matt

I was over by the post office late yesterday afternoon to get my key for my mailbox, which I never got around to getting before, but there was like a million people in line so I left figuring I’d come by at another time to get the key. I know no one is mailing me any money or checks or cookies, and I got my football ticket online already, and I already get enough bills without my mail, so I’m not really concerned about anything over at the post office–they’ll get their act together soon enough. I know though if anyone is expecting something important at UPS the present delays are unacceptable. Matt’s memo is pretty good; send a copy to President Barron and ask him to get on it–he will!

Here’s the UPS’s mission statement:

yep, my son lost the battery cover to his phone and paid for expediated shipping (much to my chagrin) and it shows delivered but no slip in his box. does this mean if he goes to the counter they won’t even look for it?

Forget packages, I haven’t even been getting any mail in my U-Box period! I’ve been expecting several important letters that were mailed almost a week and a half ago (from Florida) and still nothing. I go and check everyday and it’s very frustrating to see nothing in the box. I even waited in the extremely long line to ask the staff if they could check to see if anything had come for me and they said there was nothing they could do. Meanwhile everything is very disorganized, packages being carried everywhere. It’s madness. What am I supposed to do if the school has to mail me something and my mail isn’t getting to me?

^^

Considering the UBOX is in the SCHOOL that would be MAILING you MAIL in the SCHOOL, you really wouldn’t have a problem…

:</p>

Well, if in fact FSU mails, as in uses US Mail, to mail a student something, it will NOT get to the U-box any faster. It will get backed up and take as long as anything mailed to a student. The U does not use U-boxes to just drop off things, they have to mail something for it to end up in the U-box. Once it gets mixed into the void that is U-box mail, it can sit before it ever gets to the U-box. THIS IS A BAD MOVE ON FSU’s part. The change in package policy is definitely NOT WORKING effectively. I am surprised nothing had changed and that students are still dealing with mail that reaches the address in 2-3 days via tracking numbers, but does not get into the U-box for ANOTHER 2-3-4 days. Yikes.

sounds like yall need to make friends with someone off campus.
I’ve sent packages and said to deliver by a certain time in morning and had no problems so far.

Maybe FSU officials are afraid to say anything because some of the UPS store employees might go postal if they are told they could get fired if service doesn’t improve soon?

After four times of waiting in line at the store to ask about my box, finally a decent employee went to see if my box was labeled correctly from inside the mailroom. Of course, my box was still under the name of a student who graduated last year, and so the workers were discarding my mail since it was for “the wrong person.” And now they have to have someone look through every single piece of mail in there for my lost letters. Awesome. Glad there was at least one decent person working there.

Well, they were NOT discarding your mail. They were either returning it or it was in a holding bin, unless it was junk mail that cannot be forwarded or returned. But the UPS store is not working efficiently or correctly.

I ordered something from Staples online Monday afternoon, they shipped it UPS, the FSU UPS store emailed me at 3pm today (Wednesday) they had it, I went over and got the item after waiting 1 minute in line at the UPS store. Things seem to be okay now at the FSU UPS store! I’m getting regular mail just fine now too.

Guess the learning curve has leveled out. That is good to know.

No, it’s still awful. This week 75 N Woodward received her package 2 days before they notified her.
