I was wondering if this made any difference when colleges select applicants.
My gpa sophomore year was as follows
2.667 and 2.833
My gpa junior year was
3.0 and 4.0
Weighted it is 2.833,3.0,3.133,4.144
should i just give up senior year because my sophomore year was terrible and my 1st semester junior year, the one that matters was just a 3.0 which is on the borderline of failing
ALSO MY 1ST SEMESTER SENIOR IS 4.0 AND 4.5 WEIGHTED
An upward trend is good from the point of view of admissions. Many schools like Cal States and UC’s will not consider your Senior grades, but Senior grades will keep you from being rescinded so you need to maintain them.
Calculate your UC/CSU GPA: http://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/
Where did you apply?? Your Senior grades show that you finally have gotten your academics together. Some schools consider your Mid-year grades important, so it will depend upon where you have applied.
I applied to most of the uc’s with a 3.4 weighted uc gpa and a 2300 on the sat also stated my 1 extra curricular which was piano for 10 years
In that case, I think you need to explain to UC about your low grades in your soph year, and convince them that the grades you have right now represent you more accurately. Personal statement would be really important for you.
Did you get any supplements from the UC’s or did any ask for your Mid-year grades?? I do not know which UC’s you applied, but UCSC/UCR and UCM would all be good possibilities and you need to maintain your GPA senior year to keep your admission. Do not slack until you hear from any of the schools. Did you apply to any Cal States? You would have good chances at many of these schools so hang tight and continue the good job.
I think you’ve got a good shot at Merced. I think your GPA and light ECs will keep you out og the others
