I am a junior in high school, during freshman year I did extremely poorly, my gpa at the end of that year was around 1.7. The main reason for this was many problems going on in my life and my crippling mental health.
During my sophomore year I turned my grades around and got straight A’s in all CP courses with ease. I started taking more AP courses, I currently have A’s in those AP course but I am still taking many CP courses (With straight A’s). I also just finished an internship with a member of the United States Congress as well as being in many clubs and volunteering at town halls and working election offices during election days. Since SATs (and subject tests) and AP exams are coming up (so I don’t have those scores to factor) and in senior year I am taking 3 APS, self studying for 2 APs (which relate to the major I am seeking out) and taking more honors courses.
I have a passion for Political sciences and I am always hearing about how colleges “upward trend”. My GPA has been increasing and I have turned horrible grades in CPs into straight A’s in APs. How will colleges view this and is there anything else I can do to improve my chances of getting into a good school?
