ur stats that got u into vandy.

SATs: 1570/800/790/760
GPA: 4.0uw
APs: 9
ECs: lots of different things centering around medicine and government

did u choose to go to Vandy?..did u get accepted anywhere else? (good that is)

yep..vanderbilt is where i'm going to be for the next four years (and maybe even more if i decide to try for the med school). i got into duke, hopkins, emory, washington and lee, miami, florida, and rochester too, but i chose vandy because they gave me the most money :)

Go commodores!

heeey

1500's and 700's on SAT 2's, typical activities, into politics and that sort of thing

It was sort of a match/safety, am going to Duke next year :)

1510/800/740/710
ACT: 35
APs: taken a total of 8 AP classes
EC: Band for many, many years; much volunteering

Chose Vandy over Duke.

dang it always seems as though its between duke and vandy....(and others lol)

I got accepted into Engineering last year at Vandy:
1310/29/graduated top 2% of ~300
APs: took 9, 8 exams (no music theory) - 3s in US Gov, Eng Lit, Calc AB, 4s in World/US History and Microecon, 5s in Comp Gov and Euro History.

I have a strong suspicion that Vanderbilt lets in local people with significantly lower stats than the people on this board (i.e. no one I personally know has ever been denied, even with a B-average or 1110 SAT score), although we lived in Nashville, Tennessee. Good luck future Commodores!

I know at least three local people with SAT's higher than 1300's, A or almost A averages with AP courses, great EC's who were not admitted at Vandy over the past two years. They are now doing well at UGA, Emory, and one will be attending Wake Forest in the fall.

SAT: 1440/660/660/680/680

APs: 6 plus Penn State Mammalian Anatomy and Physiology (8 credits)

GPA: 4.0
Major ECs: 4 years Varsity Cross Country/Track and Field and I work at a real estate office

I know two kids from Knoxville, TN who wre rejected with 1470s

SAT: 1410
GPA uw: 4.0
10 AP's
eagle scout
track and cross country
500+ comm. service

daaaaaaaaamn if i could choose stats Id choose those tibbs. Where else did you get accepted?

i only applied to vanderbilt and university of texas..vanderbilt being my first choice. i visited stanford, columbia, nyu, and georgetown, but once i visited vanderbilt i knew its where i wanted to be. im assuming youll be applying to vanderbilt next year..so come up and visit us and im sure youll see why vanderbilt > duke.

i will do that

Yeah, theres a girl at my school who is pretty much an idiot. I think she got a 1300 or high 1200's SAT and has a 4.0 (cried to get most of her A's), but dropped every single one of her academic classes after first semester thinking shed tricked the colleges. Emory kicked her out, Vanderbilt kept her.
-10 points for vandy.....standards are getting lower.

dude, so she didn't go to school anymore? That's pretty stupid.

yeah, she dropped all of her academics, calc, spanish, english, ap chem, and only took two drama classes and a leadership class. Most colleges woulda revoked an acceptance in that case.

elpresidente, i have trouble believing your story -- cried her way to a 4.0, dropped all her classes, etc. But if the story is true she should be thankful that she got to keep her acceptance to the better university.

Ah, completely true. Perhaps her saving grace was that she called Vandy and confessed, I beleive her mother made her do it. Anyway, cried her way into Vandy too. My friend and I have started a betting pool. She won't last past first semester, I've got five bucks on it. I think Emory's far better by the way.....

haha that's funny...Emory better than Vandy? LOL
