I’m going to be a junior in high school this year and I’m starting my college search.

I’m looking for urban colleges. I really want to go to a college where the campus is integrated into the city but also has a good social/party life. I also want to become a nurse, so I’m looking for colleges with a 4 year BSN in nursing. I recently visited DePaul university in Chicago and I loved the campus but they don’t have the nursing program I want. Also, I’m looking for average schools like DePaul that aren’t super hard to get into or anything.
You can easily generate a list of urban schools within DePaul’s price tag, and with a nursing program, by using popular search engines such as princetonreview or collegeboard.
Are you limited to a certain part of the country? Seattle University, University of San Francisco and University of New Mexico might be of interest to you if you can head west. You definitely want to work on that SAT prep.
A number of the Jesuit schools would work for you as similar to DePaul many are mid-sized universities in urban areas. Here is the complete list and you can see out ones that fit your financial, geographic, and academic (that have nursing) needs. http://www.ajcunet.edu/institutions/ Offhand I think (you should double check) that Loyola Chicago, BC, USan Francisco, Creighton, Duquesne, Loyola New Orleans, UScranton, Xavier (and probably others as well - you can check) offer nursing.
I’m looking into Marquette but I really like how DePaul doesn’t have a big Greek scene or sport scene and it’s not like a typical college. Also location is not a big deal. I currently live in the mid west and would enjoy going to Chicago or northeast but I’m open to anywhere. Thanks for the replies so far!
Those are urban and within accessibility for B+/1200-1300 SAT.
Chatham, Simmons, Goucher, college of Charleston, Exkerd, USF, Millsaps, Loyola New Orleans, American, UMaine, Uvermont, St Michael’s, Drake, Butler, St Thomas MN, Hamline, St Kate’s, Willamette, UPuget Sound, UPortland.
I think you might be okay with Case. But I would second Seattle University. The campus is lovely and urban and in a great Seattle neighborhood just adjacent to downtown.
Check out schools in the US News “regional universities” lists. Some of them are urban, have nursing programs, and may be realistic target schools for your stats.
