I am geting a recommendation from someone who is on one of the boards at a college. She was writing an awesome recommendation about why I would be a perfect addition to the campus, but the common app told her not to put school specific information. This is the first time I’ve ever heard about this happening before. I thought recommendations were better if they were specific to the school. Does anyone else know about this? Thanks.
It’s been like that for forever and a day. However, if this is the only college that will receive this recommendation, it really does not matter if she personalizes it.
If you’re so concerned, then have her send it directly (via snail mail) to the admissions office – bypassing CA completely
