<p>central1 is right. It's only 3~4 lines depending on the margin size. </p>
<p>For the "summer essay," people meant the one asking "In additional to the work listed above, how did you spent your most recent summer vacation?".
NYU says this one is completely optional, but the other four are required.</p>
