on the common app teacher recommendation forms, it says to have a teacher who has taught you an academic subject write one for you. So does that mean I can't ask my ceramics teacher to write one for me?

I would think, no. You can ask that teacher in addition to the required ones to write a letter, but I would not think that would act as one of the primary letters you'll need.

i agree with curiousmeme...i'm getting two academic teachers, but i'm also having my art teacher write one, considering i'm going to be continuing art in college. the colleges i've asked about it say that that's perfectly acceptable.

oh okay, i was hoping I could sub in my ceramics teacher for my physics teacher but I guess I'm gonna have to hope he doesnt write as bad a letter as I think he will.
