<p>just wanted to add that i have a good friend who's applying to columbia also, but he's trying to get athletically recruited(he's our high school's quarterback). now, i kno very little abt the recruitment process but, based on wut he said, his coach gave him the nomination and he went up to columbia last weekend to talk to the guys over there to see if he could get recruited. anyways, he's not applying Early Decision, and i think that recruited athletes have a different application form they fill out. i might be wrong, but dat's wut i've heard</p>
<p>and i hafta agree w/ garland that to say the vast majority of ED admits are "hooked" sounds ludicrous; i kno tons of ppl admitted to elite private colleges nationwide early decision, and they weren't (according to mini's definition) "hooked" applicants</p>
