<p>I later found out atleast 3 spelling mistakes and grammatical errors after I applied to UChicago. They still accepted me. Imagine that. (An interesting note, I corrected them for Swarthmore which rejected me.)</p>
<p>You left out a preposition. Big deal. It’s a very common error and likely to be looked at as a typo. The parallel structure error would be more worrisome on a grad school application. It’s very picky and, unless your reader really knows more grammar than most, will probably go undetected by someone sifting through hundreds of essays from high school students.</p>
<p>You will be fine. Don’t sweat it. They only spend two minutes per essay. You will get in because of your grades, SATs and the substance of your essay is interesting.</p>
