Urgent! How big a mistake is this?

In the extracurricular short answer, I started out:

Ham radio is not only a dying art in Pakistan but even the rest of the world.

I didn't put an 'in' here.........................................^
I sent this to 8 colleges, should i make another commnapp for the 3 colleges i'm sending it to in a few hours?

This isn’t a major problem at all. In fact, I don’t even think that is grammatically incorrect (what do I know). I believe your fine.

Thanks a lot. That really did take some load off. Hope you get into UVA!

Chilax (:

I later found out atleast 3 spelling mistakes and grammatical errors after I applied to UChicago. They still accepted me. Imagine that. (An interesting note, I corrected them for Swarthmore which rejected me.)

You left out a preposition. Big deal. It’s a very common error and likely to be looked at as a typo. The parallel structure error would be more worrisome on a grad school application. It’s very picky and, unless your reader really knows more grammar than most, will probably go undetected by someone sifting through hundreds of essays from high school students.

Thanks guys! I hope you all do well in college.

You would be surprised how people subconsciously insert missing words without noticing they are not there.

anotherparent, I didn’t even notice it wasn’t there until it was pointed out. :)

You will be fine!

Hahaha yea maybe some SAT writing helped out!

You will be fine. Don’t sweat it. They only spend two minutes per essay. You will get in because of your grades, SATs and the substance of your essay is interesting.
