Urgent- how to submit my CommonApp to ED school without SAT scores

I am applying to a school ED and the deadline is Nov 1st. I am taking a subject SAT test on october 3rd. I was planning on submitting my ED application a few weeks in advance of the Nov 1st deadline - admissions officers say they don’t like receiving a bunch of last-minute applications. My SAT Subject Score takes about 2-3 weeks to come out, so I would be very close to the last-minute mark worst case scenario. Thus, is there a way I can submit my CommonApp part of the app first, then report scores later? What about that section in the CommonApp where it says to self-report test scores?

The scores section, I think it asks you if you have any tests you plan on taking. Then you can list those out, but leave the score blank.

You can submit the common app without providing some test scores that are to come in the future. You just send test scores thereafter when you take the tests; those scores when they come into the college get matched with your application file. The colleges actually rely on official scores sent by the testing agencies not the ones on your app to determine admission. Be aware also that the test score deadline is usually not the same as the application deadline for ED. Test scores can arrive after the app deadline and many ED colleges with early Nov app deadlines even accept the Nov test for ED.

Colleges generally don’t actually use the self-report test scores section of the Common App when it comes to ACT or SAT scores. It’s really there more so they know what score report to expect from you.

Your SAT score submissions will need to be sent directly from college board. So you should have them sent as soon as they are available.

You can submit your common app at any time.

thank you @rdeng2614 @drusba @guineagirl96

my problem is that I am taking a retake of SAT Subject Test Math 2. I don’t want my college to know that I took it in the past (they participate in score choice). I got a 770 last time, but I am worried that I will score lower this time; if I listed this as a future test score, and then ended up scoring lower next month, I would send my original 770 - then the college will make the obvious connection that I did worse in the retake correct?

Why the heck are you retaking at 770??

^ This!

Already paid for it and studied for it, so please help with the original question if possible, I’m confused

@drusba answered that in post #2.

Send both scores. Take them at their word that they will use the higher one. Or switch to the RD round. I personally would not do that, but it is an option.
