I'm wondering how much of a difference there is between Spanish 3 and Spanish 4 non-heritage speakers. I took 4 years of Spanish and got a 3 on the AP test but Spanish 3 is all full and Spanish 4 is not filled. I would really like to take Spanish this semester. My AP teacher was inadequate when it came to teaching AP material but I'm thinking that even though one kid got a 4, I feel naturally more comfortable in my Spanish abilities and he is a better test taker/more logical. I'd appreciate any suggestions.

my friend told me French 2 here was like French 4 in HS.

Four years of HS language, regardless your AP lang scores = FL course 3
Four years French = French 3
Four years Spanish = Spanish 3
Four years Latin = Latin 100 (there is no Latin 3)

ugh forget it. the prereqs killed everything. useless thread that i cant delete

i appreciate the response, Left. thanks!

I took 4 years of French, w/ 4 on AP test, but I'm signing up for French 2. I'm too scared to take 3. >.<

Although hopefully you're better at Spanish than I am at French!

You are probably just being too hard on yourself. I'm sure you could handle the higher French if you wanted to.
