Hi, I'm a male, and I have an interview with an UPENN alumna tomorrow at a frozen yogurt shop in dtown. I usually wear a dress shirt and black slacks to interviews (they've been at coffee shops, restaurants, libraries, etc.). I was wondering, since this interview is at a frozen yogurt place, if I should wear dark jeans, which are slim, instead of the black slacks so as to not look so unusual in that environment. I wore these jeans to another interview once, but the interviewer explicitly told me to dress casually. Any thoughts? I really appreciate any input as my interview is very soon.

Neither is a big deal. Since it’s definitely a casual place, you’re fine with either.

I also think the way people are dressed in a yogurt shop downtown is how they are dressed for whatever else they happened to be doing downtown that day. It won’t be unusual to see a mix of styles, so wear what you feel represents you.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I ended up going with the black slacks and it was great; thank you.

Glad it worked out!
