At first I thought my family will not be able to qualify for financial aid
but then we found out we did so now I want to know if its too late to submit
the FAFSA if I get into the colleges I applied to if the deadline passed already (most March 1st)?

I think if you file FSFSA now, you could still get Federal & NYS financial aid.

Whether or not you will qualify for institutional aid (financial aid from the school’s own money) will vary. You should contact each of the schools you applied to and let them now that you are now seeking financial aid. Do this ASAP!

The late filing will NOT impact your eligibility for federal student loans (or Pell grant, if you qualify).

Get everything to the colleges ASAP. Maybe some schools will have some funds left regardless of what they say, and maybe they will give it to you. But yes, you have put yourself at a severe disadvantage because the bucket is empty at a lot of schools. But there is no telling until you apply where that is the case and where they might be able to come up with something.

It is never too late to ask. The question is whether they have anything left. Your best hope is that enough other kids decline that they have money to reallocate to you.
