Urgent need of Common App Date Help!

Should I put (08-Current) or (08-11) for an activity? Technically I will not be leading it after 2011 but I saw that a lot of people put ( -Current)

I know it is a minor detail but it counts for me! Please help!

Also is it okay to abbreviate my school’s name when mentioning it in the activities section
i.e. CS Symphony instead of Confidential School’s Symphony

can anyone answer this/these?

where do you put (08-Current)? In activity? you select which grade you perfom the ec.
As for the symphony name, better to use your school name.

Thanks anurse for your reply,

yes in the activities section but for leadership positions such as President (08-11)/(08-current) in the positions, honors, etc section

Okay, then you probably just mark 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th grades, that would be fine. The space is very limitted. I did not put the year at all.

thanks anurse

yeah I’ll just indicate the years.
Luckily I have enough space to go VP(08-09) and President (09-Current) or (09-11)?? That question still has not been answered… anyone?

!! Now I see what you mean! My writing is getting cut off in the PDF. Does it show like that to the ad coms too?

!! Urgent!
For the activities section I wrote i.e.
Position: Co-President
Details and Accomp: Organize performances, choreograph dances

I felt pretentious to put “I” in the details and accomp section.
What do most people put for this section? I feel it’s better to show about yourself instead of explaining to club if it’s obvious…
Thank you!!

bump? 10 char please?

can anyone answer the question two posts above?? I’d really appreciate it! :)

If your writing is cut off in the preview, it will be cut off for the colleges. You should shorten it so that it fits within the space provided.

On the Activities List, write your details and accomplishments in whatever format is most concise and effective. I wouldn’t worry about it too much. If it helps, though, I didn’t use “I” very much (if at all), but instead said things like “Gathered …; Organized …”
