urgent question about arts supplement, help please!!

im applying for a place the m&t program at Penn this fall, and in high school am doing a desich technology a-level course......

i want to submit my some of my design work as it might give me a leg up in the admissions process and was wondering how i should go about doing this...

the arts supplement has a " visual arts " option on it, but i dont think that my work comes under that category......as in if they sent my work to the Penn art department for their opinion then my work wouldnt really make sense, because well its not art but....
designs of products/logos etc.

would it be okay to just along with my resume attach a few pages showing my design work instead of using the art supplment.......because i want my designs to be looked at by the adcoms rather than the arts people.....

i need opinions quick!!

thankyou

Err what? You think designs won't be "understood" by the arts department? I think you are seriously underestimating the people in charge there. I think they recognize that "design" is an essential element of art. Just because you aren't creating michaelangelo like paintings doesn't mean its not art. Just do what they say - put your art on some sort of website (I used flickr) with your designs on there. They are not stupid; they will recognize your type of art as a design-oriented type of art and judge it accordingly.

Bat, do send in your designs with the art supplement! You will be fine.

Logo, stencil etc design is technical art, explain the context in your
letter accompanying your submission.

Treat the design art as you would typical visual art components for
the supplement.
