Urgent Question about Bates College

Should I choose Bates College over Boston University? They are very different places, but BU seems more fun. Will I get bored at Bates, or will the campus activities keep me busy? I think Bates’ academics is more rigorous, but Boston sounds quite nicer than Maine.

MUCH HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED!

Bates is substantially smaller than BU, yet there are a lot of things to do. The students are really outdoorsy, alpine skiing is very popular. The Outing Club is also the oldest club at Bates, every student is automatically a member, and one can rent (for free) sporting gear and such. There isn’t that much to do in the surrounding area, that is the major downside. But Portland and Freeport (about 45 min away) has a lot do to, and the school often shuttles students down for a day, or you could always drive too, many students have cars. As with most schools, there are a lot of clubs at Bates and of course studying will keep you busy. You really only can go to college once, so i would choose the school that would make the most academically out of, and that would probably be Bates. You should also consider whether you would prefer a large school or small school.

Btw I am a current Bates student, and I love it there.
